BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - The Freed-Hardeman Men's Basketball team suffered their seventh loss of the season Saturday afternoon, as Blue Mountain College handed the Lions an 80-70 loss on the road in Blue Mountain, Miss.
Despite the loss, the Lions (2-7) received solid contribution from Freshman Silas Clark, who ended the day with a career-high 23 points to lead all scorers in the game. Clark was firing on all cylinders in the match-up, as he shot an impressive 4-for-9 from behind the arc and 7-for-8 from the charity stripe.
Jalen Thompson and Ben Eke also reached double figures in the match-up, as Thompson fired in 14 points while Eke chipped in 13 points. Bryan Mitchell rounded out the attack for FHU with 10 points.
Harrison Fancher and Jonah Simnpson led Blue Mountain (5-2) on the offensive end, as each fired in 20 apiece in the win. Da'Juonta Ross also found his stride in the match-up, as he ended the day with 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double performance.
The Lions shot 40 percent from the field and 36 percent from behind the arc compared to Blue Mountain who shot 53 percent from the field and 46 percent from three-point range in the win. The Lions committed 24 turnovers in the loss compared to Blue Mountain who turned the ball over 19 times in the win.
With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-7 on the season. Blue Mountain improves to 5-2 on the season with the win.
