Lions Cruise To 89-66 Home Victory Over Pharmacy

HENDERSON, Tenn - The Freed-Hardeman Lion basketball team cruised to their 10th win of the season Saturday afternoon, as four players reached double figures in the 89-66 victory at the Brewer Sports Center.

Prior to the game, the senior members of the Lion basketball team were honored. In total two seniors were honored from the men's squad including Marcus Baldwin and Jalen Thompson.

Simon Fransis and Ehab Eltayeb led the Lions on the attack, as each contributed 13 points in the victory. Kortland Martin followed close behind with 11 points after knocking down 4-for-5 from the field while Tim Afeluyi rounded out the scoring for FHU with 10 points.

The Lions (10-19, 7-14 AMC) shot an impressive 49 percent from the field in the match-up compared to St. Louis College of Pharmacy (0-25, 0-21 AMC) who shot 42 percent from the field and 30 percent from behind the arc in the loss.

Despite the loss, the Eutectics had three players reach double figures in the match-up, led by Anthony Vallejo and Uros Rogan, who each fired in 19 points. Vallejo also led St. Louis College of Pharmacy on the glass, as he recorded a double-double in the match-up with 10 rebounds. Jordan Anderson rounded out the Eutectic attack with 15 points in the loss.

The Lions led the entire way and reached their largest lead of the game at the 89-60 mark with just over a minute remaining in regulation on their way to an 89-66 victory.

With the win, the Lions move to 10-19 on the season and 7-14 in conference play. The Eutectics fall to 0-25 on the season and 0-21 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lions are back in action Saturday, February 24th, as they conclude the regular season with a trip to Park University for a 3:00 PM match-up in Parkville, Mo.
