PARKVILLE, Mo. - The Freed-Hardeman men's basketball team concluded the regular season Saturday afternoon on the road at Park University and despite a valiant effort they came up just short and suffered a 64-62 loss.
Despite the loss, the Lions (10-20, 7-15 AMC) received solid contribution from Marcus Baldwin, who fired in 17 points. Ehab Eltayeb followed close behind and recorded his second straight double-double of the season and finished the day with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Simon Fransis rounded out the scoring for FHU, as he went 2-for-4 from behind the arc and ended the day with 10 points.
Brandon Townsell led Park University (12-14, 9-13) on the offensive end with 16 points after shooting a solid 7-for-12 from the field. Mason Stuteville was the only other Pirate player to reach double figures in the match-up, as he ended the day with 15 points in the win.
The Lions shot 35 percent from the field and 35 percent from behind the arc in the game compared to the Pirates, who shot 44 percent from the field and 39 percent from behind the arc.
With the loss, the Lions fall to 10-20 on the season and 7-15 in conference play. Park University improves to 12-14 on the season and 9-13 in AMC play with the win.
