HENDERSON, Tenn. -The Freed-Hardeman Lion basketball team battled the entire way, but in the end came up short, as they suffered a 72-60 loss to conference foe Lyon College Thursday evening on the road in Batesville, Ark.
Despite the loss, the Lions (9-16, 6-11 AMC) received solid contribution from Kortland Martin and James Davis, who each contributed 18 points. Ehab Eltayeb also reached double figures for the Lions, as he put up 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the loss.
The Lions shot 42 percent from the field and 31 percent from behind the arc compared to Lyon College (12-12, 9-7 AMC) who shot 47 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point range in the win.
Emir Sabic led the Scots on the attack with 18 points after going 5-for-10 from behind the arc. Antanas Krimelis followed close behind with 16 points while Spencer Brown rounded out the scoring for Lyon College with 12 points. Tyler Robinson led the Scots on the glass with nine rebounds in the win.
With the loss, the Lions fall to 9-16 on the season and 6-11 in conference play. Lyon College improves to 12-12 on the season and 9-7 in AMC play with the win.
