HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion Tennis team won their season opener in thrilling fashion Saturday afternoon, as they picked up a 4-3 victory over Bethel University Saturday afternoon at the Pipkin Sportsplex in Henderson, Tenn.

The Lady Lions took an early 2-0 lead with wins in doubles from the teams of Sophomore Selinde Tatum and Junior Emily Whitnell, and Freshman Emaleigh Board and Freshman Sydney Smith.

Bethel fought back with 3 straight wins in closely fought battles in singles to take a 3-2 lead. Selinde Tatum leveled the contest at 3-3 with a three set thriller in her singles match, and Sydney Smith gave the Lady Lions the go ahead win with her dramatic three set singles win.
