FHU Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Loss To Missouri Baptist

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion Volleyball team suffered their second conference loss of the season Thursday evening at the hands of No. 8 Missouri Baptist University, as the Spartans defeated the Lady Lions in straight sets (25-21, 25-11, 25-20).

With the loss the Lady Lions fall to 6-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. Missouri Baptist University improves to 14-2 on the season and remains undefeated in conference play at 3-0 with the win.

Despite the loss, the Lady Lions held their own in each of the three sets, as several players contributed solid minutes including Bojana Antunovic, who led FHU on the attack with seven kills. Emma Self continued her strong play with 18 kills while Reilly Fulton countered MBU's attack well with 18 digs.

Caterina Cigarini led the Spartans on the attack with 18 kills while Nicole Bott dished out all 28 of MBU's 37 assists in the win. The Spartans accumulated 42 kills and hit .442 in the match compared to the Lady Lions who hit just .071 in the match with 21 kills.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action Friday, September 21st, as they host Harris-Stowe State University for a 6:00 PM match-up at the Brewer Sports Center.
