HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team notched their second conference win of the season Friday evening, as they picked up a convincing 3-0 win over Harris-Stowe State University at the Brewer Sports Center (25-23, 25-16, 25-8).
With the victory, the Lady Lions not only secured a much needed win, they also evened up their conference record in the process and move to 7-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. The Lady Lions (7-4, 2-2 AMC) compiled 40 kills in the match and hit .196 compared to Harris Stowe (1-5, 0-3 AMC) who compiled just 12 kills and hit -.025 in the match.
Sophomore Claire Walker paced the attack for the Lady Lions, as she ended the night with 13 kills. Bojana Antunovic followed close behind and also reached double digits with 12 kills of her own in the win.
Emma Self continued to distribute the ball well, as she dished out 31 of FHU's 36 assists while also pounding four service aces in the match. Reilly Fulton countered the Hornet attack well the entire evening, as she ended the night with 22 digs.
With the win, the Lady Lions move to 7-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. Harris Stowe falls to 1-5 on the season and 0-3 in AMC play with the loss.
UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action Friday, September 28th, as they make the trip to William Woods University for a 6:00 PM match-up in Fulton, Mo.
