HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team suffered their second loss of the season Tuesday evening at the hands of in-state foe Martin Methodist College following a hard fought battle at the Brewer Sports Center. (25-20, 25-13, 25-21)
Despite the loss, several players on the Lady Lion roster contributed solid minutes including Sophomore Shea Dean, who led FHU (3-2) on the attack with 10 kills. Claire Walker followed close behind with seven kills while Emma Self dished out 27 of FHU's 29 assists in the match. Bojana Antunovic found success at the service line, as she peppered three service aces in the loss.
Sabrie Sirmones led Martin Methodist (3-6) on the attack with 15 kills while Sydney Arnold dished out 32 assists in the win. The Redhawks also found success at the service line, as they compiled six service aces in the match, led by Samantha Davenport, who had three service aces on the night.
The Redhawks accumulated 35 kills and hit .261 in the match compared to the Lady Lions who hit just 0.10 in the match with 30 kills and 29 attack errors.
With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 3-2 on the season. Martin Methodist College moves to 3-6 on the season with the win.
