No. 1 Lady Lions extend win streak to 24

HENDERSON – The top-ranked Lady Lions (19-0, 13-0 AMC) blew by American Midwest Conference opponent Harris-Stowe State (8-9, 5-7 AMC) 92-41 to claim their 24th straight victory dating back to last season.

Defensively, Freed-Hardeman held the Lady Hornets to just 30 percent shooting from the field and forced 32 turnovers, while only giving the ball away 10 times.

The home squad shot a staggering 52 percent from the field.

Haylee Croom scored a game-high 23 points, but came up just shy from continuing her double-double streak with nine rebounds.

Carrie Hatchel followed with 18 points, Sandrea Sylman came away with 11 points and Reagen Floyd added 10 points off the bench to round out the double-digit scorers.

Chynia Brooks was a workhorse for the Lady Lions, filling the stat sheet with eight points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

Freed will play again at home on Tuesday against No. 22 Lyon College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
