ST. LOUIS – The Lions (3-11, 1-5 AMC) ended an eight-game losing streak with a 91-73 win over St. Louis School of Pharmacy (2-13, 1-7) behind a career-high 41 points from Kortland Martin.

Martin scored from all over the floor for the visiting Lions, going 7-for-11 from behind the 3-point arc, adding eight field goals and going 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.

His 41 points surpassed his previous career high of 28, which he posted against Hannibal-LaGrange on January 27 last season.

It was all Freed-Hardeman from the get-go, leading by as many as 22 points in the first half. The Lions shot 50 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes, to just 36 percent for the Euts, and the visiting squad took a 49-31 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Lions extended their lead to 27 on four separate occasions in the second half, but the Euts ended the half in a deadlock, making the 18-point, first-half cushion the total difference in the game.

Martin was followed by the team's leading scorer, Francis Agbata, who had 18 points. He added 11 rebounds to cap his second double-double of the season.

John Musselwhite was the third and final Lion to finish in double-digits with 16 points.

The Lions will continue their road trip on Saturday when they take on Missouri Baptist at 3 p.m.
