ST. LOUIS – The Lions basketball team (3-12, 1-6 AMC) followed up its American Midwest Conference win on Thursday with a 90-51 loss to No. 5 Missouri Baptist (17-0, 9-0 AMC) on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans were hot from the field for the entirety of the game, shooting over 50 percent from the field, and going 55 percent from behind the 3-point arc, knocking down 15 threes in the contest.
It was a different story for the visiting Lions, who struggled from the field at 32 percent for the game.
Jalen Thompson and Ben Eke were the two Lions to finish in double digits, with Thompson leading the game – alongside Missouri Baptist's James McKelvin – with 15 points, and Eke with 10.
The Lions will head to Arkansas on Tuesday to take on Williams Baptist at 8 p.m.
