HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions (20-10, 6-2 AMC) defeated Blue Mountain College (8-15, 2-8 SSAC) 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-16) during their Pink Out Game on Tuesday night, earning their first 20-win season since 2011 when the Lady Lions went 28-11 and made it to the NAIA National Tournament.
It was a full house inside the Brewer Sports Center with fans decked out in their pink outfits to support the American Cancer Society and breast cancer awareness, and the Lady Lions didn't disappoint the home fans after getting the sweep.
It was another solid night for freshman Kacey Donegan, who finished with her 15th double-double of the season, going for 16 kills and 13 digs.
Claire Walker wasn't too far behind Donegan, recording 15 kills, and Reilly Fulton added on to her single-season record with 17 digs. Emma Self had 34 assists and was one dig away from a double-double with nine.
The Lady Lions defense was strong, as the team finished with 12 blocks.
The Lady Lions will go back on the road for back-to-back games against St. Louis College of Pharmacy on November 1 at 7 p.m., followed by a matchup with Lindenwood University-Belleville the next day at 12 noon.
