HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Freed-Hardeman University men's basketball team (5-3, 2-1 AMC) defeated Fisk (2-14) 98-75 on Saturday afternoon in its first game back at home since November 23.

Both teams came out exchanging buckets to start the game, but the Lions would catch their wind after Konstantin Dotsenko made three of his six three's on the night on consecutive possessions to give the Lions an 11-point lead. Fisk would respond and tie the game before the Lions would go on another run to close the half and lead 54-32 going into the break.

To start the second half, the Lions picked up right where they left off, as the lead would extend to 24. Foul trouble for the Lions allowed Fisk to score from the charity stripe and cut the lead to 16, but one more scoring outburst would stretch their lead back to 20 and put the Bulldogs away. The Lions would finish them off and improve to 5-3 on the season and a two-game win streak.

The Lions had a great offensive showing again, as six players scored in double figures.

Kortland Martin led all scorers with 19 points, and Dotsenko followed him with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc.

Bryan Battle finished the contest with 17 points and seven rebounds, and John Musselwhite came away with 13 points. Yuryk Lazard scored 10 points in his Freed-Hardeman debut, and Logan Bonds matched him with 10 points of his own.

The Lions will be back in action on Thursday at home against Hannibal-LaGrange to resume AMC play. Tip-off is at 5 p.m.
