HENDERSON, Tenn. – An incredible night shooting – particularly from behind the 3-point arc – for the Lions (6-21, 4-15 AMC) led to an 85-67 win over visiting Williams Baptist (9-15, 6-13 AMC) on Tuesday night.

The Lions led the game wire-to-wire, but the first half was a bit closer than the second half. The home squad led the Eagles by seven heading into the break, just barely outshooting the visitors.

But it was all Freed-Hardeman in the second period, primarily Kortland Martin, who finished the game with a game-high 28 points, 24 of those coming in the final 20 minutes. The Lions got hot from behind the arc, knocking down 12 from deep out of their 16 total made baskets in the half.

Not only did the Lions shoot 70 percent from three in the period, but they were incredible at sharing the basketball, assisting on 21 of their 30 made baskets in the contest.

It was a solid night for Jalen Thompson as well, scoring 17 points and going 5-of-8 from deep.

Francis Agbata followed with 15 points and added six rebounds, and Silas Clark came off the bench to score 12 points, all from three.

John Musselwhite had a game-high 11 rebounds, as well as a game-high six assists.

The Lions will be at home on Thursday when they take on St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
