HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Freed-Hardeman University women's basketball team (12-5, 9-2 AMC) defeated Harris-Stowe State University (4-12, 3-9 AMC) 78-56 on Saturday for its third straight win.

The Lady Lions struck first, getting out to an early 10-2 lead. The team would put together a strong first-quarter defensive effort, only allowing four Harris-Stowe points in the first 10 minutes. The Lady Hornets would get hot in the second quarter, but the Lady Lions would go into halftime leading by 11 points at 34-23.

To start the third quarter, the Lady Lions had a scoring outburst and never looked back. The team would continue to get stops on defense and good ball movement on offense helped them find open shooters who made shots. In the fourth, the Lady Lions capitalized off of Harris-Stowe turnovers to finish off the Hornets.

Alyssa LeMay led the Lady Lions in scoring with 23 points and eight rebounds. KJ White had 14 points and 12 rebounds for her first career double-double, along with Haylee Croom, who had 14 points and 13 rebounds for her seventh straight double-double.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Thursday on the road against Stephens College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
