Box Score HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions (5-1, 0-1 MSC) fell short in their first Mid-South Conference matchup on Thursday, losing to Lindsey Wilson (4-0, 1-0 MSC) 75-60.
The Blue Raiders came out hot against the Lady Lions from the get-go and never waivered, nearly shooting 50 percent from the field for the game, while FHU struggled to find the bottom of the net in the first half.
Lindsey Wilson took an eight-point lead into the halftime break and led by as many as 11 before taking a 12-point lead into the final period.
The Lady Lions fought back in the final 10 minutes, cutting the deficit to just six, but Lindsey Wilson was able to get stops and make their free throws down the stretch to halt the comeback and go home with the win.
The Lady Lions were led by both KJ White and Alyssa LeMay, who finished the game with 17 points each.
Caroline Chambers rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points, and nearly recorded a second-straight double-double with nine rebounds.
The Lady Lions will travel to Lebanon, Tennessee, on Saturday when they face off against former TranSouth Conference rival Cumberland University. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
