Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lady Lions volleyball team (7-13, 1-9 MSC) defeated Fisk University (8-18) in straight sets (25-12, 25-23, 25-23) on Thursday night to close out a five-game road trip.
In the opening set, the Lady Lions dominated, jumping out to a 14-2 lead behind serves from Allie Humphry and Claire Walker, who had three aces and one ace in the contest, respectfully, on their way to a smooth 13-point set win.
The next two sets were both very close, with the Lady Lions needing to rally to take both. They were down late in the second set, 19-15, followed by being down 8-3 in the third set before going on an 11-2 run to take the lead and earn the sweep.
Kacey Donegan had a strong outing, totaling 13 kills at an astounding 52-percent clip, along with 10 digs for the double-double.
Humphry finished the contest with 26 assists and 13 digs, and Emma Campbell finished with 12 digs.
The Lady Lions will return home on Saturday for Mid-South Conference action when they host No. 12 Life University. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
