Box Score HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions basketball team (4-0) finished off the Christian College Classic on Saturday with a 91-77 win over Faulkner (4-2) giving them a 2-0 weekend before heading into Mid-South Conference play on Thursday.
The Lady Lions dominated in nearly every facet of the game. They shot over 45 percent in the contest, while holding the Eagles to under 40 percent from the field, they were excellent on the boards, winning that battle 48-31, and they never trailed in the contest, leading by as many as 23 points in the game.
Alyssa LeMay continued her dominance agaisnt Faulkner, scoring 30 points and pulling down 15 rebounds, nearly a year to the date from when she scored 27 points and had 15 boards against the Eagles in last year's Classic in Montgomery.
Kinlee Varnell and Chynia Brooks both had double-digit scoring games, Varnell finishing with 11 and Brooks scoring 10. Brooks also tied a career high in assists with nine.
Kaylee Odom added 10 points off the bench for FHU.
The Lady Lions will begin Mid-South Conference action in their next contest when they host Cumberland University on Thursday. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
