LeMay scores 1K in win over Brescia

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions basketball team (6-1, 1-1 MSC) crusied past Brescia (2-7) on Saturday, knocking off the Bearcats 77-38 in their return from Thanksgiving break.

It was all Lady Lions from the jump, who dominated Brescia in every aspect from start to finish.

FHU forced 20 turnovers, while only giving the ball up nine times. They out-rebounded Brescia 42-25 while pulling down 17 offensive rebounds, and they held the Bearcats to 34-percent shooting from the field and a mere 16.7 percent from behind the arc.

Alyssa LeMay was able to score her 1,000th-career point with her first basket of the game in the first quarter on her way to 12 points and seven rebounds in the win.

Kaylee Odom led all scorers with a career-high 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field in her first career start. Carissa Curtis shined off the bench, going 5-for-7 from behind the arc for a career-high 16 points.

Reagen Floyd had 10 assists in the win, her second time reaching double-digit assists, and Chynia Brooks led the team with nine rebounds, seven of which were on the offensive glass.

The Lady Lions will travel to Florence, Alabama, on Monday for an exhibition with UNA at 6 p.m. before hitting the road in Mid-South Conference play on Thursday when they travel to No. 2 Campbellsville. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
