TOUGALOO, Miss. – The Lady Lions basketball team (2-0) dominated Tougaloo College (3-3) on Monday, defeating the Bulldogs 85-43 on the road.

It was all Lady Lions from the jump, dominating on offense and locking down on defense, winning all four quarters by double digits and holding Tougaloo to a mere 25-percent shooting from the floor.

Defensively, they forced the Bulldogs to turn the ball over 16 times while only giving it up seven times themselves, and they were able to shoot a smooth 45 percent from the field.

Caroline Chambers continued to be a force down low for the Lady Lions, scoring 21 points to lead all scorers, and pulled down eight rebounds.

Kinlee Varnell had another strong night on the boards, pulling down 10 rebounds and adding eight points.

Chynia Brooks had 12 points, and Alli Crumpler added 13 points off the bench, going 3-for-5 from behind the arc.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Friday and Saturday when they host the Christian College Classic. Their Friday matchup is against former American Midwest Conference for Williams Baptist 1 p.m., followed by a matchup with Faulkner University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
