Box Score

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion basketball team completed a sweep of Tougaloo College Friday evening, as they picked up a convincing 82-53 victory over the Bulldogs at the Brewer Sports Center. The victory marks the second win for FHU (7-3) over Tougaloo College (7-8) this season, as they previously defeated the Bulldogs on the road 85-43 back on November 8th to begin the season.

Prior to the game, the Lady Lions honored Junior Forward Alyssa LeMay for surpassing 1,000 career points during FHU's match-up against Brescia University on November 27th.

In what had the early makings of an offensive struggle for both teams, the Lady Lions finished strong to pick up the convincing victory. Despite starting the game slow, the Lady Lions controlled most of what was a convincing first 10 minutes. Trailing by as many as eight points in the first half, the Lady Lions still shot 50 percent from the field and finished off the first quarter with a 19-12 lead. The hot shooting continued in the second quarter, as the Lady Lions extended their lead to double digits at the 33-22 mark entering the break.

The second half was much of the same, as the Lady Lions finished the game on a 49-21 run to pick up the 82-53 victory. The Lady Lions shot 45 percent from the field and 38 percent from behind the arc in the victory. FHU also won the battle on the glass, as they out-rebounded the Bulldogs 44-28 in the match-up while adding 20 team assists.

Alyssa LeMay led the way for the Lady Lions, as she finished the night with 18 points on 7 for 12 shooting from the field to go with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Alli Crumpler followed close beind with 15 points while Caroline Chambers added 12 points of her own in the victory.

With ten games in the books this season, all seven wins for the Lady Lions have come by double digits with five of those wins coming by more than 20 points.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action Monday, December 13th, as they make the trip to Montgomery, Alabama for a 5:00 PM match-up at Faulkner University.
