HENDERSON, Tenn. – In what was a hard-fought first half and a dominant second, the Freed-Hardeman Women's Basketball Team defeated the Life Running Eagles 74-47 Thursday night at Brewer Sports Center. 

The Lady Lions (9-3, 2-3 MSC) started off slow in the opening period, shooting just 28 perecnt from the field and turning the ball over twice. The Lady Lions picked things up in the second quarter, shooting a much improved 42 percent and leading by two, 31-29, heading into the break.

The Lady Lions started to pull away in the third quarter, opening up to a 44-31 lead heading into the quarter's first media timeout. By the start of the fourth quarter, they extended their lead to 15 by way of six third-quarter points each from Kinlee Varnell and Alyssa LeMay. 

The Lady Lions finished the night with a 74-47 victory over the Running Eagles (4-8, 1-4 MSC), claiming their ninth win of the season, moving to 2-3 in conference play. 

Freed-Hardeman ended with three in double figures, Alyssa LeMay with 16, Kinlee Varnell with 14 and Reagan Floyd with 13. The Lady Lions also got a solid performance from KJ White with six points, four rebounds and two assists.
