Box Score BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The Lady Lions volleyball team (10-2) got its spring season started with a 3-1 (25-22, 25-27, 25-23, 25-20) over Blue Mountain (4-4) on Friday night.
The entire contest was back and forth, with the Lady Lions winning the first set, but the second set needing to go to extra points with the Toppers coming out on top.
The Lady Lions were able to bear down and take the next two sets, though, to earn their first win of the spring semester.
It was a stellar night for senior setter Emma Self, who posted 42 assists, her first 40-assist match of the season.
Kacey Donegan posted 16 kills to lead the team, followed by Claire Walker with 14 and Ann Elise Jackson with 11 on a 52.6 percent clip.
Reilly Fulton added 21 digs, and Katie Speaks posted double digits with 10.
The Lady Lions will be back in action on Thursday when they open up Mid-South Conference play on the road against No. 15 Lindsey Wilson.
