Lady Lions dominate in Georgia

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Lady Lions (11-11, 5-10 MSC) kicked off a five-game road trip on Thursday with an 83-56 win over Life University (2-9, 0-8 MSC).

The defense was impeccable in the win, holding the Running Eagles to just 30 percent shooting by forcing tough shots.

The third quarter, in particular, for the Lady Lions was huge when they outscored Life 26-14 in the period to stretch a seven-point halftime lead to 19 heading into the final period.

Life went to their full-court pressure in the fourth quarter to try and fluster the Lady Lions, but the visitors were able to break the press with ease to find easy layups on the other end and go up by as many as 29 points.

The Lady Lions shot 44 percent from the field in the contest and over 51 percent in the second half while assisting on 22 of their 29 made baskets, led by Chynia Brooks who had nine assists.

Caroline Chambers led all scorers in the win with 19 points while pulling down 10 rebounds for the double-double.

Alli Crumpler finished with a career-high 16 points, and Alyssa LeMay and Reagen Floyd each finished the contest with 13 points. LeMay also pulled down 10 rebounds for a double-double.

The Lady Lions will be in Pulaski on Saturday when they take on Martin Methodist. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
