Lady Lions win close contest at Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. – The Lady Lions (12-11, 6-10 MSC) won their fifth game in their last six in a 62-59 thriller over rival Martin Methodist (4-11, 3-11 MSC) to capture the regular-season sweep over the RedHawks.

The Lady Lions led from the start and didn't give up that lead until just over three minutes into the second half. Martin Methodist would go up by as many as five in the third quarter and take a two-point lead into the final period.

FHU would go on a 6-0 run to regain their lead to open the fourth quarter, but Martin Methodist was able to go back on top by one points with 6:30 left in the game. The teams would go on to trade baskets for the next three minutes before the Lady Lions took a lead with 3:15 left, and they wouldn't give that lead up for the remainder of the game.

Alyssa LeMay had her best performance of the season, dropping 30 points and pulling down 12 rebounds for her second straight double-double.

Caroline Chambers also recorded a double-double in the win, scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 boards.

The Lady Lions will be off until Thursday when they continue their five-game road trip. They will take on No. 12 Shawnee State at 5:30 p.m.
