Box Score HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions volleyball team (13-8, 2-4 MSC) was able to knock off Mid-South Conference rival Bethel (3-7, 2-5 MSC) in a five-set thriller (22-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-25, 15-13) on Thursday night.
The Wildcats took quit control of the fifth and final set, going up 11-4 after going on a 7-0 run. But a few errors by Bethel, as well as key kills by Ann Elise Jackson and Claire Walker – along with a service ace by Emma Self – brought the Lady Lions back to take the final set 15-13.
Bethel was able to take the first set, but the Lady Lions came back strong in the second and third sets to take a 2-1 lead.
The Wildcats were able to force the fifth set, but the Lady Lions were able to pull off the comeback to earn the win.
Kacey Donegan led the Lady Lions in kills with 16 and added seven digs. Walker finished the contest with 12.
Reilly Fulton was strong defensively, tallying 21 digs, and Self finished with 33 assists, alongside Allie Humphry who had 12.
The Lady Lions will be back in action on Saturday when they face off against Cumberland University. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
