Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Lady Lions volleyball team (15-11, 4-7 MSC) fell 3-1 (20-25, 17-25, 25-19, 17-25) to the University of the Cumberlands (7-9, 5-6 MSC) during its four-game road trip on Tuesday night.
Cumberlands rallied in the first set after going down 7-2 to the Lady Lions early on, but was able to gain control of the second set quickly to take a 2-0 set lead.
The Lady Lions were able to avoid the sweep in the third set, leading by as many as six points on two separate occasions, but the Patriots came back in the fourth set, leading by as many as nine on their way to the win.
Kacey Donegan had a strong offensive outing, recording 17 kills at nearly a 36 percent clip.
Emma Self finished with 22 assists, followed by Allie Humphry with 10. Reilly Fulton had 17 digs in the game.
The Lady Lions will continue their road trip on Thursday when they take on Bethel University. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
