Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Lady Lions volleyball team (0-2) drop its first two games of the season at the Faulkner Classic on Friday, falling 3-0 (13-25, 12-25, 17-25) to the University of Mobile (5-0) in game one, and 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 23-25, 20-25) in game two against William Carey (3-3).
Game one was all Rams from the start, tallying over a 26-percent hit rate as a team with six aces.
In game two against the Crusader, the Lady Lions were able to bounce back after dropping the first set with a second-set win in a tight contest.
William Carey was able to scrape out a win in the third set that went back and forth, and they were able to hold off FHU in the fourth set to earn the win.
Emma Campbell combined for 31 digs in the two contests, followed by Allie Humphry, who had 20 combined digs and 58 combined assists, including a career-high 44 assists against William Carey.
Ivey Robinson notched a career-high 14 kills against William Carey, and Claire Walker led the way with a combined 21 kills in both games, 16 against the Crusaders.
The Lady Lions will be back in action on Saturday to close out the Faulkner Invitational with a matchup against Warner at 11 a.m., followed by a meeting with Faulkner at 3 p.m.
