Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Lady Lions volleybll team (1-3) closed out the Faulkner Classic on Saturday after falling 3-0 (14-25, 24-26, 13-25) to Warner University (3-7) but knocked off Faulkner University (3-5) 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-22).
Warner was able to hold the Lady Lions at bay, keeping them to just 26 total kills in the contest.
Kacey Donegan led the way with eight kills and added nine digs in the loss. Emma Campbell finished with 15 digs, and Allie Humphry had 19 assists.
In the final game of the weekend, the Lady Lions were able to get their first win of the season after dropping the first set by just two points. They were able to get hot in the final three sets, holding off Faulkner in three tight games to get the win in the contest.
Donegan led the way with 21 more kills along with 24 digs.
Claire Walker followed with 14 kills, and freshman Avery Harris had 10.
Humphry put up a staggering 55 assists to go alongside 14 digs in the win, and Campbell had 31 digs.
The Lady Lions will host Crowley's Ridge on Tuesday, September 7 in their home opener.
