HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions volleyball team (6-9, 1-6 MSC) fell in four sets (22-25, 7-25, 25-13, 17-25) on Tuesday night to No. 13 Lindsey Wilson (13-3, 6-1 MSC).

The Blue Raiders quickly jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the opening set, and ended up going up 21-11 late. But the Lady Lions were able to fight their way back after going on a 10-2 run to make it 23-21.

The two teams traded points to make it 24-22, but Lindsey Wilson was able to take a 1-0 set lead after a Lady Lions service error.

After a second set that was all Lindsey Wilson from start to finish, the Lady Lions were able to extend the match after winning the third set by 12 points.

The Lady Lions grabbed their first lead of the set at 4-3, which was followed by five straight serves from Ashlynne Clifft, extending their lead to 9-3.

The set would go back and forth, with the Lady Lions maintaining a tight lead, up until a 10-0 run by FHU off the serve of Allie Humphry, who had five aces in the run alone.

That put the Lady Lions up 22-11, and they would go on to take the third set 25-13.

In the fourth set, Lindsey Wilson took a 5-2 lead early before the Lady Lions scored the next three points to tie it up.

The Blue Raiders were able to tally up a 7-1 run to take a 12-6 lead, and they wouldn't allow the Lady Lions to get within four points through the remainder of the set to get the 3-1 win.

Humphry had a strong outing, totaling 32 assists, 12 digs and six aces.

Kacey Donegan led the way offensively with 10 kills to go along with 16 digs, followed by Ann Elise Jackson with eight kills.

Emma Campbell finished the contest with 26 digs.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Blue Mountain to start five-game road trip. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
