Lady Lions Win Big In Crucial Matchup Against Georgetown

The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions won an important contest against conference foe, Georgetown, Thursday night at Brewer Sports Center by a score of 86-68.  After the evening's showdown in Henderson, the Lady Lions have now won 7 of their last 8 games, including several key conference wins.

 

The matchup proved to be a tough battle between the two teams.  At the end of the first half the Lady Lions were trailing by just one point.  

 

In the second half, the Lady Lions kicked it in gear and outscored the Lady Tigers by 19 points.  Alyssa LeMay led the charge for the Lady Lions by scoring 25 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing 5 assists.  The Lady Lions also had four other players that scored double digits, which propelled the team to victory over the Lady Tigers.

 

With the win, the team improved its record to 13-4 (6-4 MSC) on the season.  The Lady Lions look ahead to their next matchup against the Lady Tigers of Campbellsville University on Saturday, January 22 in Henderson, Tennessee.
