Box Score HENDERSON, TN — The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions (19-11, 11-11) defeated the University of the Cumberlands Patriots (19-11, 13-9) by a final score of 84-63 on Senior Day in the Brewer Sports Center.
The Senior Day festivities before the game had the Lady Lions in great spirits as they jumped out a 16-10 first quarter lead ahead of the Patriots. The Lady Lions played some impressive defense in the first half, and this allowed them to build upon their lead despite some scoring struggles early on in the contest. They were able to stretch the game to a 36-26 lead to end the half.
The Patriots fought hard in the second half to crawl back into the contest but the Lady Lions were too much for them. The FHU lead was held throughout the contest as a whole, with the closest being seven points.
The Lady Lions senior players who were recognized for their service to the university included: Alli Crumpler, Alyssa LeMay, Chynia Brooks, and Reagan Floyd.
The top scorers from today's game were Reagan Floyd with 19, KJ White with 12, Alyssa LeMay with 11, and Chynia Brooks and Kinlee Varnell both grabbed 10. The Lady Lions were undoubtedly lead by their seniors, and are looking forward to postseason play beginning this week.
