MARIETTA, GA — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions (16-8, 8-8) came out of the gate hot, and carried that momentum throughout, taking down the Life University Running Eagles (6-18, 2-14) by a final score of 65-55 on the road.

The team looked to three point shooting early in the contest as they attempted eight of their first 15 shots from behind the arc, connecting on 37.5% of those attempts. The Lady Lions ran off to a 10 point lead to close the first quarter, all while scoring 21 points.

The second and third quarters were a hard fought battle. In the second quarter senior guard Reagen Floyd was able to keep FHU in the game with her stat-sheet-stuffing play of three points, two rebounds, and two assists. The Running Eagles were able to outscore the Lady Lions in the second by a score of 19-10 making the halftime score just 34-30 in favor of the Lady Lions. Then the third was a replay of the first quarter in which the Lady Lions shot the lights out, and were led by six points a piece for Caroline Chambers, Alli Crumpler, and Alyssa LeMay.

The Lady Lions were able to hold on to their lead in the fourth quarter as they went on to collect the road conference win. The leading scorers from the game include Alyssa LeMay with 15 and Caroline Chambers with 12. Reagen Floyd was also able to tally seven assists to go alongside her eight points in the win. This win allows the Lady Lions to move to 8-8 in Mid-South Conference play, and are looking to make a postseason push in the last leg of the season. They will be looking to repeat with a road win at Bethel on Monday, February 7th.
