Mahlaha's brace leads Lions to fourth win

COLUMBUS, Miss. — All five goals between the Freed-Hardeman University Lions and the Mississippi University for Women Owls came in the second half. Thaba Mahlaha tallied of the Lions' three to lead FHU to a 3-2 win.

The Lions (4-2-2) were on the prowl from the start, firing 11 first half shots, but the MUW keeper was on hsi feet, stopping all four that were on target. 

It was MUW (0-4-1) that struck first when, at 49:23, the Owls saw a two-assist goal find the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. Thabo Mahlaha immediately fought back by sending a shot to the keeper's left at 52:24.

The flurry of goals continued with the Owls reclaiming the lead with a goal at 55:48, but Avery Flener answered with a 2-2 equalizer with a goal at 59:03.

Mahlaha's second goal of the night proved the game-winner when he found an open spot in th enet at 76:43 to give FHU their first lead; but one they would keep until the full time whistle.

FHU wildly out-shot MUW 18-5 with the Owls recording seven saves. On the Lion end of the pitch, Omer Shifris had one save.
