GWINNETT, Ga. — Finishing their run in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's south regional, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions played four very competitive matches in the consolation bracket.
Michelle Lancaster easily advanced to the second round after topping Reinhardt (Ga.) University'a Malecki 6-1, 6-1. A full day of Reinhardt opposition saw
Morgan Brown fall to the Eagles' Nina Thomet 6-0, 6-2, while
Elise Kruzan won her first set against Tiffany le Roux 3-6, before dropping the second set 6-0 and losing in the tiebreaker.
Lancaster hoped to avenge Brown when the former met up with Thomet in the second round. Lancaster won the first set 4-6 before Thomet bounced back to with the second set 6-2 and the tiebreaker to end the Lady Lions' first appearance of the year.
