HENDERSON — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions hosted their annual Labor Day tournament, hosting 18 matches across two courts in two days. Each team participated in four matches, where the Lady Lions had a pair of sweeps on Friday against Tougaloo (Miss.) College 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-11) before dispatching Fisk (Tenn.) University in straight sets 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-13). On Saturday, the Lady Lions opened play with a setback, falling to the University of Northwestern Ohio in four sets, 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-21). FHU would bounce back in the final match of the weekend with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22) win over former Mid-South Conference foe UT Southern.
Against Tougaloo, the Lady Lions boasted a .388 team attack percentage, out-killing the oppositions 33-11.

Avery Harris, and Alanys Ruíz Rivera each smacking six kills.
Charley Fulton led the back row with six digs not to mention a six service ace day at the line, with
Masey Kate Adams giving out 15 assists and
Morgan Wilson doling out 11.
FHU kept the momentum strong against Fisk, combining for 10 blocks against the Bulldogs.
Catherine Hackett led the offense with 10 kills. The back row had a field day with
Charley Fulton pulling up 23 digs, Alanys Ruíz Rivera had 17 digs, while
Avery Young tallied 12. On the front line,
Ann Elise Jackson smacked two solo blocks while assisting with three others. Young had a pair of solo stuffs and two assisted blocks in the win.
On Saturday, FHU fell to the University of Northwestern Ohio in four sets, 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-21). FHU would bounce back in the final match of the weekend with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22) win over the Firehawks of UT Southern.
Alanys Ruíz Rivera was a dig short of a double-double, pulling up nine digs to go with her team-high 10 kills.
Morgan Wilson and
Masey Kate Adams split the setting duties, with the former helping with 16 assists, and the freshman Adams ending with 15 helpers. Adams did make her presence known with another double-double, adding 13 digs to her night.
Finishing up the four-match tournament, FHU's service attack was on full display with the ladies in maroon tallying 10 aces. Alanys Ruíz River earned a double-double with a team-high 16 kills and 10 digs.

Catherine Hackett, each pushed points at the net with two total blocks each. Adams continued her double-double streak with 21 assists and 10 digs.
