The Freed-Hardeman volleyball team (13-14, 2-8) ended their away trek with a clean sweep over Georgetown College (6-15,3-8) on Friday evening.
FHU set the tone from the opening serve, holding a steady lead throughout, which ended in a 25-20 win. The Lions had 12 kills through the first set alone, with Alanys Ruiz Rivera notching five of them and
Iza Wos adding three as well.
The Lions, fueled by another dominant frame by Ruiz Rivera, took the second set with a 25-16 win to bring on a chance for a sweep.
Tied at 22, the third set proved to be much more competitive. The match was capped with a kill from FHU's,
Audrey Orton, her eighth of the night.
Ruiz Rivera concluded the evening with 15 kills and a .367 hitting percentage. Orton and Wos helped Freed-Hardeman's offensive attack with eight and six kills, respectively.
Charley Fulton led the Lions with 15 digs, while
Autumn Howard achieved the double-digit effort with ten digs.
Avery Young had two blocks and
Alyssa Austinn generated 33 assists on the offensive end.
Freed-Hardeman will be back at home on Tuesday at 6:00 pm with a match against Crowley's Ridge (6-12).
