HENDERSON — The (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions out-scored their opponents 43-17 in the second half to end the night with a 75-46 victory over the Eagles of Faulkner (Ala.) University.

Though the Eagles scored the first four points of the game, the Lady Lions (9-0) bounced back with a jumper from Kaylee Odom before Carissa Curtis and Brooklyn Crouch tallied back-to-back 3-pointers to give FHU an 8-4 lead. After four Faulkner points tied the game, Rachel Satterly scored five unanswered to give the Lady Lions back the lead. A steal and a score from Curtis ended the first quarter with the Lady Lions leading 15-10.

The long ball was working for Faulkner (3-4) in the second frame with the Eagles bucketing three straight 3-pointers to put the guests on top 21-16. The Satterlys pushed FHU back on top with Jenna Satterly following R. Satterly with 3-pointers. It was Kelsey Bender that had huge 3-pointers, ending the half with back-to-back triples to give FHU a 32-29 lead going into the intermission.

After Faulkner the first four points of the half to retake a lead, Odom took control of the game by scoring the next 13 points all by herself to push FHU to a 45-33 lead. Elli Chumley joined Curtis to round out the quarter to give the Lady Lions a 50-37 lead.

The Lady Lions saved their best for last, out-scoring the Eagles 25-9 in the final frame. Lucy Curry teamed up with Curtis with 3-pointers in the middle of the quarter. Being one of seven Lady Lions to record points in the fourth quarter, Alaina Stiles ended the game with a 3-pointer to secure the 75-46 victory.

FHU's defense was as strong as ever, holding the Eagles to 28% shooting from the floor: the seventh time this season FHU has held their opponents under 40%. The Lady Lions forced 22 turnovers, turning those into 24 points.

Kaylee Odom led the way with 17 points, followed by Carissa Curtis bucketing 15 points. Kelsey Bender led with seven rebounds with Rachel Satterly dishing out five assists. Despite playing under five minutes, Alaina Stiles had two blocks while Odom had four steals.
