Five Things to Know:
1. Back-and-forth
Freed-Hardeman and Tougaloo have traded victories in their last four meetings. In their first meeting in 1975, the Bulldogs got the best of FHU, but since then the Lions are 13-9 against Tougaloo.
2. Obey the Law
Peyton Law has been tearing through opposing defenses, averaging 19.3 points per game at a .653 clip. For a time, Law led the nation in field goals made. For his efforts, Law was not only honored as Mid-South Offensive Player of the Week, but earned the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week title.
3. Unfortunate Timing
On Tuesday, November 26 the then No. 7 Freed-Hardeman Lions topped the No. 4 Arizona Christian Firestorm. Because the top-25 polls were locked in on Monday, November 25: the poll did not include the Lions' big win on Tuesday. Because of that, FHU woke up to see a poll released where the team they had just defeated lifted to No. 1 in the polls while FHU moved up one spot to No. 6.
4. A Historical Win
Not only did the victory against Langston in Kansas City give the Lions a National Championship, but it gave Freed-Hardeman basketball a winning record with 765-755 dating back to the1974-75 season (the earliest we have verifiable records).
5. Henderson, Tenne-THREE
The Lions have made at least one 3-pointer in 45 straight games dating back to February 26, 2023
