ST. LOUIS — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions soccer team wrapped up their season-opening road trip in St. Louis by facing the Harris-Stowe State (Mo.) University Hornets Wednesday night. Despite jumping ahead early, a pair of quick goals stunned the Lady Lions in a 2-1 loss.
All three goals of the match were netted within a four-minute span with the Lady Lions (1-3-0) striking first. In the 20th minute,
Ellie Wood notched her second goal of the season after taking a pass from Gabriella Albrecht.
The FHU lead lasted a little more than two minutes when the Hornets (1-0-0) were able to score the equalizer at 21:30. Before the Lady Lions were able to regroup, a second goal at 23:04 from HSSU ended the scoring in the 2-1 final.

Ava Pierce busy, sending 17 shots toward the Lady Lion net with the junior tallying five saves.The Lady Lions were more selective in their shooting, taking three shots with the lone shot on target being the goal.
