Late goals propel Lions to fifth win

HENDERSON — The Freed-Hardeman University Lions scored two late goals Saturday to defeat the Barons of Brewton-Parker (Ga.) College 2-0.

The FHU (5-0-1) offense was on the attack a majority of the game, firing 24 shots toward the BPC net with the Barons only taking four shots in the match. After a scoreless first half, Seabata Ts'emane finally found paydirt after six tries in the 67th minute, Thabo Mahlaha found his teammate at the top of the box where Ts'emane quickly took a shot with his left boot to find the back of the net.

In the final minute of the match, Avery Flener broke free from the Brewton-Parker (0-5-1) defense before taking a hop to his right and netting his second goal of the season at 89:25 to give FHU their final tally of 2-0.

Stopping both shots he saw while breaking up several crossing passes, Eduardo Almansa earned the clean sheet.
