LEBANON, Tenn. — The Freed-Hardeman University Lion soccer team began a gauntlet of three straight top-15 opponents when they visited the No. 14 Cumberland University Phoenix. After 90 minutes the Lions came up on the wrong side of a 4-0 match.

Eduardo Almansa registered a save on the first shot of the game before
Tyler Burns' shot missed high at 20:09. Almansa made another save before the Phoenix broke through with a two-assist goal at 29:37. Cumberland added a second goal in the waning minutes of the half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Phoenix (10-1-3, 2-1-1 MSC) gave up a flurry of free kicks before adding a third goal at 59:23. Balsa Medinica and
David Kangni fired shots for the Lions, but it was a penalty kick for the home team in the 88th minute that ended the scoring in the 4-0 match.
Eduardo Almansa made seven saves while four Lions recorded shots with Medinica's in the second half being the only one on target.
