BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Kenyata Carbon and Freed-Hardeman's
Jamarcus Powell are the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Jamarcus Powell – Freed-Hardeman – Jr. – Forward – Memphis, Tenn.
- Powell had five blocks and two steals to help the #2 Lions best Johnson (Tenn.), 73-62.
- Powell earns the first weekly honor of this season and of his career.
MSC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Kenyata Carbon – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – Jr. – Guard – Owensboro, Ky.
- Carbon averaged 22.5 points, five assists, and two steals for the Blue Raiders' 1-1 week.
- The junior shot nearly 70% from the field in the two contests, including making 7-9 three-pointers and a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line.
- Carbon earns his third weekly conference honor this season and of his career.
