VARIOUS — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions had a busy week where they competed in three away matches in as many days. The Lady Lions fell to the No. 23 Bethel University Wildcats 6-1 before dropping their match to the Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) University Toppers 5-2. The third match concluded with a 4-0 defeat to the No. 3 Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders.

The doubles round started for the Lady Lions (5-9, 0-2 MSC) with Hannah Pearce/Suri Gomez falling 6-4 before Morgan Brown/Elise Kruzan lost to the No. 47 pair 6-3. Though the point belonged to the Wildcats, Cecily Davis/Kennley Kirk ended the round with a 6-2 victory.

Hannah Pearce took the No. 4 court victory over her Wildcat (8-3, 1-0 MSC) opponent 6-2, 7-5. Elize Kruzan fell to the #43 player 6-0, 6-0 while Morgan Brown dropped her match 6-4, 6-4. Suri Gomez fell on the No. 3 court 6-0, 6-0 with Kennley Kirk losing 6-2, 6-4 and Cecily Davis coming up short 6-2, 6-1.

Freed-Hardeman (5-10) grabbed the doubles point with Hannah Pearce/Suri Gomez getting a 7-5 win and Morgan Brown/Elise Kruzan winning 6-3. Cecily Davis/Kennley Kirk fell in their match 6-1.

Suri Gomez earned the lone victory on the No. 3 singles court with a 6-1, 7-6(1) victory over her Lady Topper (5-8) opponent. Elise Kruzan forced a tiebreak set but fell 6-4, 2-6, 1-0(3) while Morgan Brown needed a tiebreak for the first set before ultimately losing 7-6(6), 6-4. Hannah Pearce dropped her No. 4 court match 6-3, 6-3 while Kennley Kirk lost 6-1, 6-1 and Cecily Davis 6-3, 6-4.

Fighting to get the league match finished before poor weather the Lady Lions (5-11, 0-3 MSC) faced three ranked doubles pairs and three ranked singles opponents. In the doubles round Hannah Pearce/Suri Gomez fell to the #2 team 6-0 as did Cecily Davis/Kennley Kirk to the #20 team. Morgan Brown/Elise Kruzan grabbed a game but lost to the #3 duo 6-1.

Elise Kruzan fell on the No. 1 court to the #18 singles player 6-1, 6-0 with Morgan Brown falling to Lindsey Wilson's (11-2, 3-0 MC #8-ranked player 6-2, 6-2. In the clinching match Suri Gomez lost to her #23 opponent 6-2, 6-0. Hannah Pearce and Kennley Kirk got a few games in before the match concluded.
