HENDERSON — The Freed-Hardeman University Lions fell to the (RV) Indiana University-Southeast Grenadiers in a high-scoring midweek clash, 12-6.
It was the Lions (13-4) that struck first, with
Trace Anderson's leadoff double turning into FHU's first run. A second run would cross in the third inning before FHU picked up two more runs in the fourth and eighth frames.
Held scoreless for the first three innings, Indiana-Southeast (11-7) exploded with offense, putting up runs in the remaining six innings. The Grenadiers put up 17 hits in the contest, with seven of those going for extra bases.
Trace Anderson led FHU's hitting, earning three of the Lions' seven base hits while driving in a run.
Joe Romines got the start for the Lions, tossing four innings while striking out four before giving way to four bullpen arms. The first reliever,
Colton Bryant (1-2), was charged with the loss in two innings of work.
