BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. — Completing a home-and-away series with the Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) University Toppers, the (RV) Freed-Hardeman Lions used 20 different players to help get the victory, 7-4.
The Lions (30-11) got on the board first in the top of the second inning when
Logan Stewart smacked a solo shot to lead off the frame. FHU would later score three additional runs in the third inning to improve the lead to 4-0.
Blue Mountain Christian (19-24) rallied in the middle innings, scoring one run in the third and three in the fifth to level the scores at 4 runs each. In a pinch-hit role,
Brooks Jones shattered the tie with a two-run homer to push FHU to the 7-4 win.
Alejandro Diaz had two base hits, meaning nine other Lions each recorded a base hit in the victory.
Jackson Hines had the start, tossing four complete innings before handing the ball off to
Clay Strope (2-1) who earned the victory after holding BMCU to one hit in three innings.
