Five Things to Know:
1. Battling to the End
The Lady Lions showed plenty of fight in Tuesday’s five-set battle with Blue Mountain Christian, rallying to win the fourth set and force a deciding fifth set. FHU ultimately fell 15-13 in the final set, but the performance gave the team momentum heading into this weekend’s four-match UHSP Classic.
2. Dacic Leading the Attack
Teodora Dacic has emerged as an early offensive leader for the Lady Lions. The sophomore recorded FHU’s first double-digit kill performance of the season with 10 kills against Marian, then followed that with a team-high 17 kills against Blue Mountain Christian.
3. A Busy Weekend Ahead
Friday marks the beginning of a four-match weekend for FHU in St. Louis. The Lady Lions face Friends at 3 p.m. and Brescia at 7 p.m. Friday before meeting York and William Penn on Saturday. The weekend gives FHU plenty of opportunities to build momentum before returning home next weekend.
4. Familiar Foe
Friends enters Friday with a 2-2 record after opening the season with wins over Oklahoma Panhandle State and Evergreen State before dropping consecutive 3-0 matches to Peru State and MidAmerica Nazarene. The Falcons also defeated FHU 3-1 when the teams met in 2025.
5. Brescia Twice in Two Weeks
Friday won't be the only meeting between FHU and Brescia this season. The Lady Lions will face the Bearcats again Sept. 4 in Henderson as part of the FHU Labor Day Classic. Brescia is scheduled to play York earlier Friday before facing FHU at 7 p.m.
