HENDERSON -- After three consecutive matches without a result, the Freed-Hardeman University Lions picked up a big win against the Brescia (Ky.) College Bearcats 5-1, helped by a pair of goals from
Noah Setterberg.
The Lions (2-0-3) sent four shots toward the Bearcat keeper with none of them finding their target until a pass from
Balsa Medenica gave Setterberg a clear look and netted FHU's first goal at 9:06. Freed-Hardeman would continue testing Brescia's netminder until the 33rd minute when
Alex Wright utilized a pass from
Paolo Sparks to record his career's first goal. A little under three minutes later,
Ethan Collins scored his first goal at 35:14 with an assist from
Evans Osei Amankwah.
Setterberg wasted little time netting his second goal, burying a goal into the Brescia (1-3-1) net in the 51st minute thanks to an assist from
Hugo Luque. Freed-Hardeman wrapped the scoring at 60:08 when
Heydan Lefort took a pass from
David Hajduk to score his first goal of the year. The guests managed to sneak a goal through in the 79th minute before time expired in FHU's 5-1 victory.
The Lions fired 15 shots toward the Brescia goal, eight of which were on goal.
Gaspar Bourdon remained steady in goal, tallying three saves in the win.
