NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fernanda Ferreira of Freed-Hardeman University is the TranSouth Athletic Conference volleyball player of the week for the week ending Sunday, September 23, 2012.

Ferreira, a 6-0 senior middle hitter from Minas Gerais, Brazil, led the Lions to a 3-2 week with all three wins coming away from home. Ferreira led the team with a .249 attack percentage and added 89 kills, 49 digs, seven service aces, and six block assists. In a 3-2 win on a neutral court against Shawnee State (Ohio), the senior had 19 kills with 15 digs and three service aces.

The Lady Lions are 6-6 on the season.
