ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Freed-Hardeman University volleyball (17-10, 5-2 AMC) team competed in day two of the St.Louis College of Pharmacy tournament on Saturday, going 2-0 on the day and finishing the tournament at 3-1 overall.
The Lady Lions started the day off with a four-set win over Lincoln College (20-10). They would win the first two sets before the Lynx would take the third.
The Lady Lions finished off the Lynx in the fourth set to secure the win (25-12, 25-23, 26-28, 25-18). Kacey Donegan led the way offensively with 24 kills and 16 digs for the double-double, along with Claire Walker who had 19 kills. Emma Self distributed 49 assists, while Reilly Fulton tallied 36 digs, along with Self, who had 15 digs of her own to complete her double-double.
In game two on the day, the Lady Lions swept Haskell Indian Nations University (8-19) to finish 3-1 for the weekend. The Lady Lions clicked on all cylinders in the final game to secure the sweep (25-23, 25-16, 25-23), as Walker had 13 kills, Self had 23 assists along with 11 digs, and Allie Humphry had nine assists. Fulton led the way defensively with 30 digs.
The Lady Lions will be back in action on Tuesday on the road against Crowley's Ridge College. The game will begin at 6 p.m
